Bio of Reverend Oscar L. Holland, Sr.

Rev. Oscar L. Holland, Sr. is the Pastor of Smith Temple Baptist Church (formally Smith Temple Free Will Baptist Church), located at 322 S. East Street in Raleigh North Carolina.

Rev. Holland was called into the Ministry of God in July 1995. He spent sincere prayer and counselling with Pastor Eddie L. Durham, Sr. In October 1995, he did his first sermon and was licensed to preach the Gospel by Rev. Eddie L. Durham Sr., Pastor of the Saints Memorial Community Church, Willingboro, New Jersey. In 1997, Rev. Holland was also licensed by the New Providence Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Nathaniel J. Wood. In February 2000, he was ordained by the East Cedar Grove Association under Rev. Harold F. Trice, Sr.

Upon returning to North Carolina in 1990, Rev. Holland founded the Wake-Johnston Men’s Fellowship. This Ministry has thrived and to date continues to serve the Raleigh, Fuquay and Johnston County communities. March 2011 Rev. Holland served as Assistant Pastor at Willow Springs Free Will Baptist Church. In mid-2012, Rev. Holland served as an Associate Minister under the then Assistant to the Bishop, Elder Dr. John E. McDowell, Sr. Pastor of Mt. Olive Free Will Baptist Church of Cape Fear Conference “A” of the United American Free Will Baptist, where Dr. John McDowell, is now the presiding Annual Bishop. Rev. Holland serves as Assistant Christian Education Director of Cape Fear Conference “A”. November 2015, Rev. Holland was appointed to the General Executive Board of the United American Free Will Baptist Conference

In preparation to preach and teach the word of God, Rev. Holland attend the following Bible Institutions:

• Christian Life School of Theology, Raleigh, NC

• Apex School of Theology, Raleigh NC

• North Carolina School of Theology, Durham, NC

June 2015, Rev. Holland receive his Bachelors of Science Degree in Biblical Studies, from the United American Free Will Baptist Bible College.

Rev. Holland was called to Pastor the Smith Temple Free Will Baptist Church May 2013 (now Smith Temple Baptist Church). There he preaches and teaches a flock of more than 100 members. His goal is to not only prepare the Disciples of Smith Temple for the second coming of Jesus Christ personally, but to help them to be ready to minister to family, friends and the community, the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Rev. Holland is married to Rev. Liz Holland and they are the proud parents of four children (Kem, Kevin, Sharon and Oscar, Jr.), nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Rev. Holland is dedicated to the work of the Lord through preaching and teaching God’s word both in the Church and Outreach Ministry
